Mehdi Youssef Khani, speaking about the changes in chicken prices at the end of the year, said: “The day has gone down somewhat, but today we saw a price jump due to increased demand.”
He added: “The price of chicken per chicken is offered to the consumer at the price of 2 thousand and 7 tomans, which is expected to decrease with the decrease in demand in the coming days.”
The head of the Union of Bird and Fish Dealers on Egg Supply and Prices stated: “Each egg of the regulated egg is marketed at 4,000 tomans, and the price of egg per egg in town stores is as high as 4,000 tomans.”
Domestic producers’ problems with egg imports
The country’s veterinary organization recently issued a permit to import 66,000 tonnes of eggs, up from 8,000 tonnes.
